A travers la série de 7 œuvres tissées intitulée HORIZONS, je souhaitais livrer ma vision de l’été, une vision apaisée et méditative.

Période propice à la contemplation (horizons marins, couchers de soleil, paysages naturels) le temps semble parfois s’arrêter face au lointain. Ces instants figés, je les ai photographiés puis j’ai retravaillé certains clichés à la gouache afin d’y apporter de nouvelles nuances de couleurs. J’ai créé la série d’œuvres Horizons en mélangeant les techniques, avec des allers-retours entre photographie, peinture et retouche image.

Après une jolie collaboration autour de mon projet Blue Landscape avec l’Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant Tissage Moutet, nous avons à nouveau avancé main dans la main dans la fabrication en textile de ces 7 paysages. Par un processus complexe, les 7 dessins ont été « mis en carte » afin d’être réalisés en tissage jacquard. Il a fallu retrouver toutes les nuances dans des fils de coton afin que la version tissée soit la plus semblable à l’œuvre originale : un travail de recherche colorielle long et minutieux.

Les 7 Horizons ont été exposés pour la première fois au Regina Hotel MGallery de Biarritz durant l’été 2020.

Through the series of 7 woven artworks entitled HORIZONS, I wanted to deliver my vision of summer, calm and meditative.

Summer is the best moment to contemplate sea, sunsets, natural landscapes…  I used to take pictures of those landscapes and then I retouched some pics with gouache painting in order to add new shades of colors. I created the Horizons series by mixing techniques, going back and forth between photography, painting and image editing.

After a nice collaboration on my Blue Landscape project with the Living Heritage Company Tissage Moutet, we collaborated once again in the textile manufacture of these 7 landscapes. Through a complex process, the 7 designs were traduced in jacquard weaving. We had to find all the colours shades in the cotton threads ; it was a long and meticulous color research work.

The 7 Horizons were exhibited for the first time at the Regina Hotel MGallery in Biarritz during the summer of 2020.
