AKAA Paris 2024

Barbara Asei Dantoni’s second participation in the 9th edition of the AKAA contemporary art fair — Also Known As Africa — in Paris was a great success.

Through its international galleries and artists, AKAA highlights the many facets of Africa: a continent that transcends borders and proudly amplifies the voices of its artists.

This year, Barbara Asei Dantoni was presented in a duo show by the Art’Gentiers gallery. Collectors, art enthusiasts, and journalists turned out in large numbers, making this edition a particularly special event.

A significant number of works found new owners, including both loyal collectors and new ones from across the globe.

On this occasion, Barbara Asei Dantoni was invited by France 24 journalist Fatimata Wane-Sagna to appear on the set of the special edition of À l’Affiche, alongside artist Soly Cissé.

In her article for Le Monde, journalist Emmanuelle Lequeux named the artist the “highlight of the fair.”
