Populariser l’art en le faisant apparaître dans des lieux inhabituels,
Déplacer sa pratique artistique sur de nouveaux supports -vivants- et un nouveau format -la parade…

C’est ce que j’ai pu expérimenter en travaillant à la conception de costumes et d’un char pour le Carnaval des 2 Rives à Bordeaux Métropole.

L’Association MC2a -Médiations Culturelles aquitaine-afriques – m’a proposé d’assurer la direction artistique de leur « char à voile ». Ambitions écologiques, inspirations d’Afrique de l’Ouest, la thématique générale cette année était « Afro K ».

J’ai donc utilisé mon langage graphique pour réaliser des masques et des tenues, ainsi que des structures portatives en textile et bambou.

Grâce à l’aide de plusieurs centres sociaux du quartier du Grand Parc, et à Vincent Franceschini à la construction bois, nous avons pu fabriquer l’ensemble en quelques semaines.

La compagnie du chorégraphe franco-béninois Norbert Sénou et de Caroline Fabre a porté les créations et rendu vivantes ces tenues en dansant avec tout au long de la parade.

This is what I was able to experience while working on the design of costumes and a float for the Carnaval des 2 Rives in Bordeaux Métropole.

The MC2a Association -Médiations Culturelles aquitaine-afriques – offered me the artistic direction of their “veil float”. Ecological ambitions, inspirations from West Africa, the general theme this year was “Afro K”.

So I used my graphic language to create masks and outfits, as well as portable structures in textile and bamboo.

Thanks to the help of several social centers in the Grand Parc district, and to Vincent Franceschini in the wooden construction, we were able to build the whole thing in a few weeks.

The company of Franco-Beninese choreographer Norbert Sénou and Caroline Fabre wore the creations and brought these outfits to life by dancing with them throughout the parade.
